Institutional Expenses as a Percentage of Total Expenses
Institutional expenses consists primarily of centralized, executive-level activities concerned with management and long-range planning for the entire institution including executive management, fiscal operations, general administration, public relations, development, and information technology.
NSF/HERD Research Expense Projection

Research expenditures reported in The National Science Foundation Higher Education Research and Development survey (NSF HERD) equals total research expenses less non-current funds plus unrecovered indirect costs. The amount in red indicates remaining research expenditures needed to reach the three-year $50 million average required to be placed in Carnegie's highest classification.
